Sourav Ganguly Incredible Records List

1. Ganguly is the seventh Indian cricketer to have played 100 Test matches.

2. He is currently the 6th highest overall run scorer for India in Tests.

3. Ganguly is the second among Indians after Sachin Tendulkar (who has the highest ODI runs in the world) and the eighth in the world in terms of overall runs scored in ODIs.

4. Ganguly has 22 centuries in ODIs and is only behind Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya and Ricky Ponting in that list.

5. Sourav, along with Sachin Tendulkar, formed by far the most successful opening pair in one-day international cricket, having amassed the highest number of century partnerships (26) for the first wicket. Together, they scored nearly 7,000 runs at an average of 49.32.

6. Ganguly is a world record holder for creating most number of 50-run partnerships for the first wicket (44 fifties).

7. He captained India in 49 Test matches and led India to 21 Test wins, both of which were Indian records until MS Dhoni bettered them.

8. His Test average never went below 40.

9. Ganguly holds the record for most 200+ ODI partnerships (6 times) along with Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting.

10. He holds the record, shared with Sachin Tendulkar, for most first wicket ODI partnerships of 175+ runs (7 times).

11. He holds the record, shared with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, for the fifth highest score by an Indian cricketer in an ODI – 183, against Sri Lanka in 1999.

12. He held the record, shared with Sachin Tendulkar, for the highest first wicket partnership in an ODI match, 258, against Kenya in 2001. This record was bettered by the Sri Lankan opening pair of Jayasuriya and Tharanga in 2006 at Headingley.

13. He was involved in the first 300 run ODI partnership with Rahul Dravid.

14. Ganguly is also the only player to win four consecutive man-of-the-match awards in ODIs.

15. He’s India’s second most successful ODI captain after Mohammed Azharuddin.

16. He was the first Indian to score an ODI century against Australia in Australia.

17. He was the highest ODI run-scorer in the world (in a calendar year) in 1997, 1999 and 2000.

18. He’s placed fifth on the list of maximum number of sixes hit in ODIs.

19. He’s on the second spot in the list of highest number of centuries in a single calendar year ever – 7 centuries in 2000.

Rahul Dravid all time Records List in Cricket History

Dravid is known for his technique, and had been one of the best batsmen for the Indian cricket team. In the beginning, he was known as a defensive batsman who should be confined to Test cricket, and was dropped from the ODI squad due to a low strike rate. However in a period of his career, he began consistently scoring runs in ODIs as well, earning him the award of ICC Player of the year award.Here is the list of some unique records held by Rahul Dravid

1) Dravid is the 2nd Indian (3rd in World) to score more than 12,000 test runs.

2) Has been involved in the most century partnerships in Test history - 85 (23 nov 2009).

3) Scored nearly 23% of the total runs put up by India (with a batting average of 102.84) in the 21 Test matches won under Ganguly's captaincy. This is the highest percentage contribution by any batsman in Test cricket history in matches won under a single captain where the captain has won more than 20 Tests.

4) 2nd longest streak of consecutive Tests since debut (93 + 1 in ICC XI) missed 95th test at Ahmedabad due to fever, behind Adam Gilchrist (96).

5) Only player to score a century against every Test playing nation away from home.

6) Involved in highest partnership made away from home for any wicket for India with vice captain Virender Sehwag of 410 runs vs Pakistan at Lahore in 2006 (also, the highest partnership between a captain and the vice captain). Only Pankaj Roy and Vinoo Mankad have scored more runs in a partnership for India, 413 vs New Zealand in Chennai (6-11 Jan 1956).

7) Dravid is one among the only three batsmen to hit Test centuries in four consecutive innings. The other two are Jack Fingleton and Alan Melville. Dravid achieved this by hitting scores of 115, 148, 217 and 100* in three successive matches against England and one against the West Indies. Only Everton Weekes, with centuries in five consecutive innings, has achieved a longer sequence of consecutive Test hundreds.

8) With scores of 50 or more in 7 consecutive Tests Dravid is behind only to Tendulkar (8) and Gambhir (11) among Indian batsmen. Gambhir and Viv Richards hold the world record with 11.

9) He is currently 2nd among batsmen who have scored most away runs in Tests (6430 as of April 2009). Only Sachin Tendulkar (7165) has scored more away Test runs.

10) He has played 150 innings of 94 tests at number 3. He has scored more than 8000 runs at this position. Both feats are world records.

11) 2nd Indian batsman to score twin hundreds in a Test twice, after Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar and Ponting are the only batsmen to score twin hundreds in a Test thrice.

12) One of only three Indians to score 5 double hundreds.(each bigger than the previous 200* vs Zimbabwe, 217 vs England, 222 vs New Zealand, 233 vs Australia, 270 vs Pakistan). In fact, along with Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, he is one of only three Indians to score 190+ on seven occasions.

13) Partnering with Tendulkar, has scored more runs than any other pair, excluding opening pairs. They are the 3rd best in terms of total number of partnership runs scored by a pair in test cricket.

14) Dravid has faced highest number of deliveries in test cricket, more than Allan Border's previous record of 27002 deliveries.

15) Joint highest number of fifties(63) in test cricket with Australia's Allan Border (63)

16) Rahul Dravid is the third batsman in the world after Indian mastero Sachin Tendulkar and Australia's Ricky Ponting to reach the 12000-run milestone in test cricket.
